Alamport Inc. (“Alamport”), via Alam Energy (rooftop solar rental solution provided by Alamport, NiX JAPAN Co., Ltd. (“NiX”) and Shizen Energy Inc. (“Shizen Energy”), the rental company name is PT ATW Alam Hijau) announced that we received the order of 3MW rooftop solar power plant at a paper mill in Indonesia. The ground-breaking ceremony was held on August 8.
Alamport, Nix and Shizen Energy launched Alam Energy, which is a rooftop solar rental solution subsidiary, in collaboration with the ATW Group, which is the local partner engaged in the engineering, procurement, and construction of solar power plants. The companies are jointly developing the solar power generation business in Indonesia through Alam Energy.
Alam Energy provides the rooftop solar rental solution to the paper mill of PT Eco Paper Indonesia (“Eco Paper)” that manufactures processed paper products derived from recycled paper such as corrugated cardboard. The electricity generated will be supplied directly to the paper mill. Eco Paper is a subsidiary of PT Alkindo Naratama Tbk (ALDO).
“The installation of solar power plant in Eco Paper is a reflection on ALDO’s focus on sustainability and ESG. We are already producing green products and financed with green financing from BCA and HSBC. The next step is to utilize green process through green energy which will be supplied by the solar power plant” said Willy Soesanto, Director of PT Alkindo Naratama Tbk.
Eco Paper can reduce electricity costs by using price-competitive clean renewable energy without initial investments. In addition, by switching a portion of its electricity consumption to renewable energy sources, Eco Paper will contribute to the effective reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in its business activities. Through the 25 years of use, Eco Paper expects to reduce more than 50,000 ton of CO2 or equivalent to planting more than 2 million trees over 25 years. The Indonesian government has declared that the country will achieve carbon neutrality by 2060, and this project will also contribute to achieving that goal.
